Roles are very intricately connected with a lot of automatons inside the app, so you cannot "delete" a role from your system per se. This is to avoid automation issues when a bandleader accidentally erases a role while forgetting that they are present in active bookings. When the roles are gone, so are the members you have booked for the roles.

You can imagine how this would mess with your bookings, payment, and all those good automated stuff we love about the app.

You can, however, “retire” a role by disabling it. Once you have retired them, they will not show up on your Book Roles section any longer.
