As a seasoned bandleader with years of experience in live music for weddings and corporate events, I know that mastering the art of booking can elevate your gig game. Whether you're at the helm of a new band or a pro looking to streamline your process, this comprehensive guide will walk you through creating a booking that ensures a seamless gig experience for you and your clients.
Introduction to Booking Gigs
Once your account is set up, it’s time to dive into the main event: booking gigs. This guide will take you through:
- Adding a new booking
- Managing client details
- Setting up a schedule
- Creating and managing services
Here’s how to get started.
Setting Up a New Booking
- Navigate to Bookings:
- Open the left sidebar, locate "Bookings" and click on "Add New".
- Essential Information:
- Title: Be descriptive. E.g., "Sippy Juice Launch Party" is more specific than "Corporate Gig".
- Status: Decide if the booking is confirmed or still in negotiation (use "Negotiating" to track ideas as a 'hold').
- Main Performance Date: Clearly state the date.
- Client: Identify who is paying the bills.
Adding Client Details
- Add New Client: If clients aren’t added yet, click "Add New Client" and fill in:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email
- Additional Details: Fill out thoroughly to simplify contract and invoice generation later.
- Save Progress: Click save to create new client information, then continue building the booking.
Building the Booking
The Booking Creator is your go-to center to plan every event detail:
- Event Details Tab:
- Add a schedule and location. It automatically creates a Google Maps link for musicians.
