Understanding the Issue
When you try to log in to Back On Stage App using the "Respond Now" or Gig Sheet links from your notification emails on an iPhone, you may encounter a frustrating loop:
- You tap the login link in your Mail app, which opens an in-app browser (not the full Safari or Chrome browser).
- You enter your email and password to receive a One-Time Password (OTP).
- You close the in-app browser to check your email for the OTP.
- When you return to your email and tap the “Respond Now” of Gig Sheet link again, a new in-app browser session opens, which triggers a new OTP, making it impossible to complete the login.
This happens because the iPhone Mail app opens links in its own browser window, and each time you open the link, it starts a new session, invalidating the previous OTP.
Why Does This Happen?
- The iPhone Mail app opens links in a temporary browser window, which does not keep your login session active if you close it.
- Each time you open the link from your email, a new session is started, and a new OTP is generated, making the previous code invalid.
Solutions: How to Complete Your Login
Option 1: Copy and Paste the Link into Safari or Chrome
- Long-press the "Respond Now" or login link in your email.
- Select "Copy Link" from the menu.
- Open the Safari or Chrome app on your iPhone.
- Paste the link into the address bar and go.
- Complete the login process in the browser. Now, when you check your email for the OTP and return to Safari/Chrome, your session will remain active, and you can enter the OTP successfully.
Option 2: Use the "Open in Safari" Button
- If you accidentally open the link in the Mail app's in-app browser, look for the Safari icon (usually at the bottom or top right of the screen).
